Please join us in Brooklyn, NY, on July 29, 2017, to celebrate our marriage! We will be locking it down at a small, family ceremony in the afternoon. BUT THEN comes the real fun - we hope you can join us for a party in the evening. We are excited to take this next step together and even more excited to share it with you, our friends and extended community. Finger foods will be served and there will be an open bar serving beer and wine.
Where:Father Knows Best611 Wilson AvenueBrooklyn, NY 11207
Closest subway stop is Wilson Ave. on the L Train, but you can also easily walk from the Chauncey St. stop on the J Train.
When:July 29th, 2017, from 8:00-11:00pm (free-form hang out for the rest of the evening for anyone still standing and/or dancing!)
What to wear:We will be dressed in summer garden party apparel but we invite you all to come as you are! July in New York City is hot so please put your own comfort first. Suits, t-shirts, and jorts will be equally welcomed with open arms.
Where to Stay:If you are traveling from out of town, and want to stay in the city, we recommend checking out options on Airbnb, especially if you want to stay near the party. Any home near the L or J trains is probably a good option. Of course, this is New York, and there are also cabs, Ubers, and Lyft drivers aplenty. You will not have a problem getting to and from the party wherever you end up staying.
If you prefer a hotel, we recommend looking at options in downtown Brooklyn or Williamsburg.
We are happy to help you find alternative options, such as connecting you with other guests (if you would like to split a hotel room), or finding someone who can host you.
Gifts:Your presence is our present! Our NY apartment is too small to add any more stuff to it. We are so thankful that you are making the effort and taking the time to celebrate with us. That being said, if you want to give a gift, we know plenty of amazing organizations that would benefit from your generosity. Here are a few of our favorites that do important work in some of the communities closest to our hearts and our home:
52nd Street Project: This is an amazing organization with which Avi is a frequent volunteer and collaborator. The mission of the project is to bring together kids from Hell’s Kitchen in Manhattan, starting at age ten and lasting through their teens, with theater professionals to create original theater offered free to the general public.
Journey's End: An organization in one of our favorite places, Buffalo, NY, that welcomes refugees without regard to ethnic origin or creed and assists them to become healthy and independent members of the community.
Jews for Racial and Economic Justice: JFREJ works in partnership with its neighbors in New York City to fight for transformative change, an end to racism, and a more just NYC.
We're thrilled to share this exciting moment in our lives with you. If you are able to join us on July 29th, 2017, wonderful! If not, we look forward to celebrating with you in the coming months and year. We love you!
